Akita Inu

The Akita Inu is the largest of the Japanese Spitz-type breeds. They are strong, evenly-proportioned, powerfully built dogs with distinctive features. Akita Inus have bulky, flat, triangular-shaped heads with short, pronounced muzzles. Their noses are dark (generally black), and they have triangular-shaped, dark brown eyes. Akita Inus have pink tongues, black lips, and teeth that close in a scissors bite. The breed is slightly longer than tall, with a flat back, deep chest, and stout limbs. They have a well-defined stop and a groove in the center of their foreheads. Akita Inus have fluffy, high-set tails that curl up over their back. An Akita Inu’s coat features a weather resistant outer layer that is insulated with a soft undercoat. Colors vary, but Akita Inus bred for show should be pure white, brindle, sesame, or red. Black facial masks are common, but they are not permitted in the show ring.

Pomeranian

The Pomeranian is a happy, active little dog that will adapt cheerfully to life in a one-room apartment or a spacious dwelling, revelling in the role of lap dog or enjoying walks with its owner. Alternatively, it will amuse itself adequately in a yard. It makes a faithful and devoted companion.

SizeWeight: Dogs: 4 – 4 1/2 lbs. (1.8 – 2 kg); Bitches: 4 1/2 – 5 1/2 lbs. (2.2 – 5 kg)

Coat and Colour

There should be two coats, an under and an outer coat; the first a soft, fluffy undercoat, and the other a long, perfectly straight and glistening coat covering the whole body, being very abundant around the neck and forepart of the shoulders and chest where it should form a frill of profuse, standing-off, straight hair extending over the shoulders. The hindquarters should be clad with long hair or feathering from top of rump to the hocks. The texture of the guard hairs must be harsh to the touch.

Chow Chow

The Chow Chow is a dignified, faithful, and independent breed, with a serious attitude and a somewhat protective streak, which makes him an effective watchdog. These dogs are alert and intelligent, and it can be difficult to get some Chow Chows to do anything that they do not want to do, which makes them more suited to those with more experience with dog ownership and training. This breed does have territorial instincts, and needs to be socialized early on in order to ensure that he has an even temperament and stable personality.
The Chow Chow will get on well with children when raised with them, and with older, more considerate children, but needs to be supervised around animals as he may be aggressive towards dogs and cats. He tends to be reserved and wary around strangers, perhaps because of his protective streak. The Chow Chow is a dog that will often keep himself to himself unless provokes, but do bear in mind that these dogs do have predatory instincts and can therefore be dangerous around smaller dogs and cats. Although training can be difficult because of the nature of the breed, housebreaking of the Chow Chow is normally quite easy.

Norfolk Terrier

The Norfolk Terrier is an outgoing, energetic, and playful creature. These dogs are generally sociable and friendly, but can be very independent, headstrong, and possessive, which makes them best suited to those with some experience of dog ownership. Although small, the Norfolk Terrier has plenty of courage and personality. Training shouldn't prove too difficult, as these are intelligent dogs and are quick to learn. These little dogs love to dig, so prepare to be horrified if you have the perfect garden. They may also bark a lot, so if you are after total peace and quiet then this may not be the pet for you. The Norfolk Terrier is an inquisitive creature, and has plenty of energy. You will need to ensure that he gets plenty of exercise and play.

Cavalier Spaniels

This beautiful small spaniel has dark round expressive eyes that are large but not prominent. The tail is sometimes docked to no less then three times its length. It has a conical muzzle and a flat skull. It has a shallow stop, with well developed nose and wide nostrils. The ears are long with abundant feathering.
